Guerilla Projection Mapping Installation

In June 2020 when the Black Lives Matter protests were in full swing around the globe, I was contacted by colleagues at the Museum of Freedom and Tolerance to make a visual statement the night before the BLM rally happened in Perth City. I collected the names of Aboriginal Deaths in Custody and projected them onto the Rainbow Container sculptural work in Fremantle. I had created this digital work for an online video earlier in the week and translated it into a projection mapping work upon the request of artist Suvendrini Perera to bring attention to the individual identities and the lives of indigenous people in Australia that have not been granted justice for their mistreatment, honouring them and their families and conveying the importance of every indigenous life as we prepared for the rally the following day.

I was later asked to re-create this installation for a seminar at the John Curtin Gallery at Curtin University in WA. for the Speaker Series: Matters of Appearance, a Panel Discussion.
